Teeth whitening is set to increase in popularity following the royal wedding between Catherine Middleton and Prince William.
Catherine Middleton's beaming smile was broadcast to billions of people around the globe and many viewers will be aware that the bride achieved this look through the magic of teeth whitening.
The Duchess of Cambridge was rumoured to have had teeth whitening treatments ahead of her big day after her sister Philippa Middleton enjoyed great success after undergoing the same procedure.
Catherine Middleton is an incredible influential trendsetter so it is likely that a growing number of young women will imitate her winning smile by taking advantage of the benefits of teeth whitening.
The royal wedding is expected to increase the number of engagements in the near future so more brides-to-be will want to look their best for the special day and that usually involves creating a glowing smile.
Dr Didier Fillion, who is reported to have performed the teeth whitening treatment on the royal bride, told the Evening Standard that a winning smile is essential to getting on in life.
He told the publication: "The goal is to create the most beautiful smile possible. Society judges us by appearance. If it's a choice between two people, one with a nice smile and the other with an ugly one, well... "
The wide smile sported by the Duchess, where each tooth is clearly visible, is thought to be the most desirable and more people are expected to have cosmetic dentistry treatments in order to achieve this look.
Dr Fillion also revealed that a growing number of women were enquiring about cosmetic dentistry so that they could attain a gap in their eye teeth so that they could resemble Vanessa Paradis, the wife of Johnny Depp.
Catherine Middleton was reported to have had a brace to correct a gap between her eye teeth which was more prevalent during the early days of her relationship with Prince William at St. Andrews University in Edinburgh.
The young royal also had cosmetic dentistry work as a school girl as she wore a conventional brace aged 12 as did her husband who had a brace for ten years, Clarence House recently confirmed.
Meanwhile, research by a teeth whitening firm has revealed that people living in 'God's Own County' of Yorkshire are most likely to smile as 37 per cent rate their happiness levels as eight out of ten.
